This listing is for a set of two hardwood millinery hat blocks - a crown and 5-pc puzzle brim block - that were custom made and hand carved by the LaMode Hat Block Company, who has since retired from the hat block- making business.
Head-size
22 ½”
The
crown block
is a custom carved hardwood block –
oval shape
with a curved tip (top) that measures about 3” high around the sides (See pictures)
The
brim block
is a
5-piece puzzle block
, custom carved with a
pillow brim
so the "brim" folds back to the underside forming a “rolled” and more "couture finished" edge vs the more common turned and stitched edge that is flatter.
The brim measures about 1” wide and there are 2 string grooves for easy blocking. (See sample hat in pictures).
The set also comes with 2 wood pegs to help hold the blocks together while blocking.
Condition:
Both blocks are in excellent, like new condition showing little to no use. There are no chips, cracks, dings or other issues – no pin marks.
