Vintage Industrial Early 1900's Wooden Foundry Mold 15" Diameter

This great old foundry mold that measures 15" diameter.    It is a really cool piece for your vintage industrial or modern farmhouse decor.  It still has it's original tin tag, reading "INSIDE".
This wooden foundry mold is from the early 1900's. The foundry used these molds in a sand casting process to produce the items in cast iron. The molds were made by specially skilled craftsmen, whose precision woodworking, made perfect replicas of the cast iron piece that their customers requested. This foundry mold is a great old piece of American Industrial history, wonderful for industrial urban decor. We have other foundry molds, please check our other listings.
This foundry mold was painted black, with wear to the paint as shown, along with a  natural wood center and has some silver, that was used as a releasing agent for the casting process.    As pictured, some of the paint is missing and it is a bit rough in places from it's use in the foundry.
This cool old foundry mold measures 15" round and is  5 1/8" deep.
It is perfect to hang on your wall, it does have three 1/2" wooden pegs on the back to hold it off your wall to protect your wall when hanging.   We can attach a D- hanger prior to shipping, if requested.
