    Vintage California Dept. of Forestry Shoulder Patch, Shield Pattern 1978
    Offered here is a genuine patch from the California Department of Forestry (CDF). The Division of Forestry separated from the Department of Conservation in 1977, as a result the patch changed as well. This shoulder patch was adopted by the CDF in 1978. It was to be worn on the right shoulder. For a period of time both the round emblem and the shield were both available. The Shield patch highlighted the change in tasks over both fire and forestry.
    This patch, and others I will be auctioning, are original CDF patches. They are from the collection of a relative of mine who was a firefighter and a Captain at several camps over the years (Eagle Lake, Arcata and Crescent City. I have kept some for myself.
