Description

A vintage Depression-era book in great shape - 1929?  That's 92 years old, but it sure doesn't look it!
Appears to be the 4th book in this series, written by Howard Roger Garis (1873-1962), the extreeeeeemly prolific children's literature author, creator of the 15,000+ story Uncle Wiggily LongEars series, various Tom Swift and Bobbsey Twins and Motor Boys and Baseball Joe and Mystery Boys and Campfire Girls books (under a slew of pen names), the Daddy series, the Two Wild Cherries series, the Rick & Ruddy series, the Larry Dexter series, the Venture Boys series, the Those Smith Boys series, and others!!!!!!!!!!!! ..  a single B&W illustrated plate in front... an interesting tale, especially considering the state of the world and the country at the time!
Standard sized child's / young adult's book - 5"x7.5" hardcover, 1" thick, red clothbound covers, quite pleasantly readable typeface... "Illustrated", crows the publisher, but ? :>) - I saw only one illustration!  Interior frontispiece has a prior ownership indication neatly ink-stamped in a mock-book-label section.  All in all, a solid book in good condition !
