History: purchased from an antique store in Helena, Montana 1960’s, while following the great full dead.
To believers around the world and through the ages, a prayer rug or mat – known as sajjadat / sajadah salat, a term borne out of the acts of prostration done during Islamic prayers (sujood) – is found in every Muslim home and is often a constant travel companion that goes with the worshipper.
Condition details: majority of authentic wear is in the areas where the previous owners knees were placed for prayer. The mat is still fully intact and in great shape, used to pray on 10s of thousands of times.
Would make for a beautiful wall hanging.
