Original Las Vegas production of the JERRY HERMAN musical comedy hit "MAME" at the Circus Maximus at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. (The Original Broadway production opened May 24th, 1966 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City and ran for 1508 performances while simultaneously playing on the road and abroad. The Las Vegas production opened December 27th, 1968 at Caesar's Palace

The musical starred SUSAN HAYWARD (making her stage debut) as "Mame Dennis", the role originated on Broadway by ANGELA LANSBURY and featured JOHN VIVYAN, DELPHIA LAWRENCE, LORETTA SWIT, SHAWN McGILL, RUTH GILLETTE, ROGER RATHBURN, RUFUS SMITH, ROBERT GOSS, ALVIN ING, TOM BATTEN, STEPHEN GUSTAFSON, ROSEMARY HARVEY and DOROTHY POISELLE ..... Side note: The Las Vegas production opened December 27th, 1968 at Caesar's Palace starring SUSAN HAYWARD as "Mame Dennis". In a long and distinguished acting career, she had never appeared in a stage production. After only a couple months she was forced to leave the show due to the strain on her voice. She was replaced on March 10th, 1969 by CELESTE HOLM .....
