It is in as found condition. I did an initial cleaning but there is still more cleaning to be done.
This is from a large group of antique foundry molds etc. that I will be listing over time. These came from the estate of a local man who purchased them years ago from a foundry in Menomonie. This foundry originated in 1898 as the Dunn County Iron Works where they produced castings for sawmills and brickyards. A couple of years later they became the Aetna Engine Works which produced gasoline powerplants for sawmills. In the 1910's the engine work was stopped and it became the Forster Foundry Company. In 1928 a floor drain was started but the depression/stock market brought an end to this. The company now operates as the Badger Iron Works. This group appears to have wood forms/molds from the Dunn County Iron Works, Aetna and Forster.
I'm not at all knowledgable about these items so please look the pictures over and ask questions. They seem to be beautifully designed. They may be useful as well as great pieces of industrial art.
Please look at the scans/photos for more information about this item.
