PAIR Huge Vintage Industrial Wooden Foundry Molds Tall Great Shelves 81" & 71"

This Pair of great old wooden foundry molds would make really cool shelves. We purchased an entire foundry of molds and this is the most unique pair. We have no idea for what purpose they were intended, with most casting done for machinery etc. They are very long and impressive, with their unusual shape and details. One measures 81" Long by 17 1/2" tall at the end where it goes long. The shelf depth on the long one is 6" deep. Note in the last photo, that it does have some blocks coming out on the back, so the other side would need to be blocked out or these pieces would need to be cut off for it to sit flush on your wall. The shorter one measures 71" long by 17 1/2" tall at it's end and the shelf depth is 4". The shorter one does already sit flush to wall. These could easily hang with D-Hangers. They are not too heavy the long one is 14 pounds and the shorter one weighs 10 pounds. This wooden foundry mold is from the early 1900's. The foundry used these molds in a sand casting process to produce the items in cast iron. The molds were made by specially skilled craftsmen, whose precision woodworking, made perfect replicas of the cast iron piece that their customers requested. This foundry mold is a great old piece of American Industrial history, wonderful for industrial urban decor. We have other foundry molds, please check our other listings. They are painted red, as pictured and some of the paint is missing and it is a bit rough in places from it's use in the foundry. These foundry mold shelves have been thoroughly cleaned and have a clear coat to protect and enhance their finish. It is possible Greyhound Express would be less expensive.
