Old Cherry Wood Multi Port Control Valve 2 part pattern Mold Neat Industrial
Neat old patterns made of cherry mounted to 1" thick birch faced ply.
Patterns are 6
7 3/8" long, approx 5 3/8" wide at the widest, 1/2" tall for most of the pattern, 3/4" tall at the one end
Boards patterns are mounted to are approx 11" by 9 1/4" by 1" thick.

Patterns like this were  very precise, exacting work.
Today, there are almost no molds made anymore from wood.  They are either made from plastic stock or metal.
These molds are  from an age of days gone by, where most patterns were made from wood.
Pattern making is a  highly skilled trade that required a lot of handwork years ago, now most everything is made with CAD CAM machines.   Pattern making required often working within 5/1000ths of an inch, and was one of the highest paid trades.
My father is winding down his 50 year pattern industry business, and this came from his pattern archives.
This was the original wood mold, my fathers' business was subcontracted by a foundry to make this original mold.

Overall  very nice condition.There are some light areas, those are wood filler or epoxy used to smooth out cornersZ(called a fillet), build up where damage was created from the foundry.
This will make a great wall decoration if you love industrial related items!
