    Description

    Here we have a
Lot of 5 Metal Antique Foundry Sand Molding Casting Tools Trowels.
3 tools are maker marked BURR and 1 tool is maker marked C. MONK.
Theodore Burr and his son Celenus started their Damascus Tool Works in Detroit, MI in the mid to late 1800’s and manufactured miscellaneous tools including foundry tools.
Charles Monk, Brooklyn, NY was a major US manufacturer of
    sand
    molder's
    foundry tools
    and plasterer's tools.
He appears to have started his tool making in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s and after moving to
    Geneva, Illinois,
    he
    was still operating in 1958.
The tools were lightly cleaned.  One tool is made of brass or bronze. One of the 'BURR' double-ended spoon spatula appears to have been owner modified with a straight edge at the tip, and an angled straight edge on one side.  They are in Very Good 'used tool' condition with minor nicks and wear (see pics).  They range in size from 7" to 18" long.
