Large Steel sand casting flask form foundry mold 18 x 18 x 10 inch inner dimensi

Description

custom made sand casting form / flask.
It measures 10 inches tall with both top and bottom together. The bottom alone measures 8 1/4 inches (roughly).
The inner measures 18 inches square although the angle iron that holds the sand in place is about an inch, so the usable area is about 17 inches square.
The top form is 1 1/2 inches tall.
Heavy duty. These came
from a local college who had discontinued their casting classes.
There are two pins that hold the top in place and the meet up well. There are also a bunch of holes that may be for more pins or bolts to hold the forms together so they don't leak when you are pouring your metals.
I'd assume that they are made for softer metals like aluminum or brass / bronze.
I've never used anything like this, so it may work for steel.
