Collection of miscellaneous documents from the USPS Railway Mail Service in Southwestern Virginia and Northeastern Tennessee.  Over 100 documents from 1911-1918 depicting Demerit Reports, an employee's illness, promotion paperwork and test results, bonding form, correspondence as to the employee being essential and should be excluded from service in WWI, scratch notes and general correspondence.  There is even a one page "story" about seeing another employee's wife meeting another man at the movie theater. The story begins, "It was a dark and cloudy night...". It's all a fascinating glimpse into another time. Condition is GOOD for the age of the papers. Some are crumbling, some have stains, possibly mildew (no odor), some are originals, some are copies.
Condition is GOOD to ACCEPTABLE. There may be price stickers, stray marks, small tears to the covers, ex-library markings, shelf wear. Please examine all photographs carefully.
