Description
Here's an almost 11" wide footed cake plate, made by the Imperial Glass Company of Bellaire, Ohio. This pattern didn't have a name given to it by Imperial, but collectors often refer to it as 'Katy' (a name given by the early glassware author Hazel Weatherman) or 'Lace Edge'. It appears in Imperial catalog listings by the early 1930's, and I'm not sure for how long it was made (I don't have any very good Imperial references). The piece is actually about 10-3/4" wide from side to side (just about 9" in the interior part), and stands about 1-1/8" high at the sides on a little 4" diameter center 'foot'. It's in nice shape, free of ni
cks, chips or fleabites, and if there's any scratches the pattern hides them very well. Pretty thing with beautiful coloring and a cool design; I've got way too much glassware in my life (including quite a few pieces of this pattern I'll hopefully be getting listed); it's in great shape, and it needs a new home.
