African Chief Necklace, trade beads venetian OLD OLD. Shipped with USPS First Class.
This necklace is part of an estate, approximately 24-26” from Africa, purchased or gifted sometime in the early1950’s and brought to America. It is large and bold at almost an inch thick. The brown beads seem to be made of ebony, or some other kind of dark wood and the three LARGE Venetian trade beads are probably made in the 1700’s or even earlier and so, are very very old and valuable on their own merit to bead collectors.
This necklace displays BEAUTIFULLY and could fit in nicely with a museum collection, but I don’t know too much about it.
My Aunt was a globe trotting adventuress who lived life on her own terms and helped a lot of people along the way. She had a real love for Africa and this was one of her favorite treasures.
I am helping my cousin to liquidate her estate and the proceeds are going to charity.
