Solid Pine  patterns, these have some mass and weigh 15 pounds together
Both are  16 1/2" long,  by 14 1/8" wide, by approx 3 1/8"high
Today, there are almost no molds made anymore from wood.  They are either made from plastic stock or metal.
This mold set  is from an age of days gone by, where most patterns were made from wood.
Pattern making is a  highly skilled trade that required a lot of handwork years ago, now most everything is made with CAD CAM machines.   Pattern making required often working within 5/1000ths of an inch, and was one of the highest paid trades.
My father is winding down his 50 year pattern industry business, and this came from his pattern archives.
These were  the original wood molds that  my fathers' business was subcontracted by a  foundry to make this original mold.
These have some kind of silver finish put on them at the foundry, underneath they are painted all red. The silver comes off, it is like a powder (probably some sort of rmold release agent) I wiped them down, but it still comes off, it does come off your hands with just water and a little soap, no hard scrubbing needed.

This pair will make a great left and right Industrial wall hanging!
