    Up for auction is an original signed ownership contract agreement for the historic Irvington Theatre in
    Portland
    ,
    Oregon
    .
    One page.
    Dated July 30, 1965 on Irvington Theatre letterhead, this agreement is between Sanford Smith and David and Anita Carlson.
    Provides a typed section relating to the serial numbers, cost per month, title transfer and insurance and is signed on the lower portion by buyer and purchasers; signed again by Smith on the reverse side.
    Additional penned notes indicate the buyer’s address and note dated two years later that the payment was “paid in full”.
    For 65 years, the Irvington Theatre was the primary movie house in the
    Irvington
    district.
    Located at 14th and NE Broadway, the 640-seat theatre opened in 1925.
    Due to the
    Lloyd
    Center
    movie multiplex opening in 1986, attendance declined and four years later, the
    Irvington
    closed.
    Very good plus condition with original mailing folds and handling.
    Accompanying this contract is a recent image of a photograph taken in 1975, when the
    Irvington
    was showing Tommy.
