    1901 Mexican Central Railway, Letter from Chief Engineer, Lewis Kingman, to Otis F. Clapp, a civil engineer in Providence, RI.
    Lewis Kingman was head of the engineering & construction department of the Atlantic & Pacific Railroad Company (Western Division) and later was appointed as assistant engineer of the construction department of the Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe Railroad Company in the 1880s. He was then chief engineer for the Mexican Central Railroad in the 1890s. Kingman worked with railroads most of his adult life, mostly in the North American West and South, such as in New Mexico and Mexico, as well as in Topeka. Kingman, AZ is named for him. bio-
